Poem: Churchill’s Challenges

It’s 50 years since Churchill died

I’m distantly related

I brandish this about with pride

(The “distant” part unstated!)

He left this world, and thus my clan,

The same year I was born

I missed the chance to meet the man

Which leaves me quite forlorn

I smile at thoughts of little me

Deciding to arrive

And join his noble family

In 1965!

Oh my! Another thought appears

Within my troubled mind

That means I’ve lived for 50 years

And life has not been kind

My once broad mind and narrow waist

Have gradually changed places

And brains where great ideas once raced

Are now just empty spaces!

But I’ll take heed of Churchill’s ways

And waste my time no more

With worthy quests I’ll fill my days

Here’s what I have in store …

I’ve made a website for my task

My challenges are nifty

Just click on Google’s search and ask
