Poem: Life is a Cliché

I’ve started so I’ll finish

The show must go on

Clichés in Memoriam

Of what I should have done.

The giving up was easy

So I didn’t take that route

I donned best bib and tucker

And put on Sunday suit.

Best foot forward

Follow my lead

phrases I remember from

Before I could read.

Stand up and be counted

Help the underdog

How can I help it

I can’t see through the fog.

What am I doing

Where shall I go

How will I get there

Steady and slow.

I’ve started so I’ll finish

The show must go on

Clichés in Memoriam

Of what I should have done.
