Poem: Piece of Her

And we look so beautiful together
Holding hands for the world to see
No one can see though, that everyday
You still try to find a piece of her in me.

They say the cupid hit us the hardest
That our love has set us free
But everytime we’re alone in the dark
You still try to find a piece of her in me.

Looking into your deep hollow eyes
And I imagine what we could be
If she hadn’t been there before coz
You still try to find a piece of her in me.

Words are empty and emotions are high
My heart asks you to listen to this plea
I’m slowly tearing apart from inside since
You still try to find a piece of her in me.

My voice, my hair, my scent
Nothing soothes you like before, I can see
You’re here but you’re not and that
Makes me want to find a piece of her in me.

  1. Very nice poem Devisha. Liked the deep hollow eyes.I would suggest you take out the word the in front of cupid and give him a capital letter (line 5) because Cupid is a person or character, not a thing. Good luck with your poetry.

    • Hi Andy. Thank you so much for the appreciation and suggestion. Will incorporate the same.

  2. Thank you for sharing this lovely, delicate poem with us, Devisha. Hope to read more of your work soon.

    • Thank you Emily. It means a lot. Please look out for my other poems. I’ll publish soon.

  3. Beautiful piece of writing! 🙂
